Dave Hanley has worked on creating and marketing a set of popular media properties, including Shelfari and Rhapsody.com.
In 2007, Dave joined Shelfari, a company of three technically savvy book nuts aiming to build the best social site for book readers. In a little over a year they took an unknown site with 10,000 members and grew it to a membership of nearly 2 million members, and soled it to Amazon.com.
Prior to Shelfari, Dave held senior product and marketing roles working on the Rhapsody Music Service at RealNetworks. Dave was director of product management during the the building and launching of Rhapsody.com and Rhapsody’s Web Services program.
Dave spent his five years before Stanford business school working in economic development with NGOs and banks in Asia and Latin America that were implementing and assessing microcredit programs, including time as a Fulbright scholar with Muhammad Yunus and Grameen Bank in Bangladesh.
Dave holds bachelors and masters degrees in Public Policy from Brigham Young University and an MBA from Stanford.
