Daniel Foa is an entrepreneur living in China. He is originally from the UK and has been working in China over 10 years and speaks fluent Mandarin Chinese.
He is President and co-founder of FairKlima Capital. Dan has 12 years of experience in the China market in a wide range of environments, with particular expertise in new technology development and new media. Before founding FairKlima, Dan held managerial positions in the Business Operations departments of several major multinational firms; consulted in financial services; launched a Web 2.0 start-up; and led the internet strategy at the Shanghai Stock Exchange while at IBM.
Dan has spoken at a number of international events on China’s Internet Finance, Microfinance and Social entrepreneurship, and was feature for 51Give’s Chinese sustainable microfinance projects in the UN Foundation’s film for the official UN TCKTCKTCK Copenhagen campaign, featured at the Cop15 UN conference. In December 2009, Daniel attended the United Nations Climate Change Conference in Copenhagen, Denmark to advocate for the role of Chinese youth in fighting environmental problems. Dan has successfully turned the mainstream movement in China. Dan is co-founder of Microcarbon Foundation and 51Sim Foundation.
