Dan is a serial web technology entrepreneur having been CTO of two venture-backed start-ups and involved with many others at both board and hands-on engineering levels.

He is currently the CTO and founding partner of online jewellery retailer 1791 Diamonds Ltd, which launched in the UK, Australia, and New Zealand in 2008/09; and also CTO of NetProfess Ltd, a small and active creative website design studio based in Auckland, New Zealand which he founded in 2005.

Dan has founded and worked in many fast-paced web technology start-ups on both sides of the world; including Europe’s largest online community startup smartgroups.com, pre-cursoring today social netowkring platforms; luxury online prize-draw competition website grandticket.com; digital pen community and online shop everythingpen.com; and more recently, diamond engagement ring online retailer 1791diamonds.com.

During his time in New Zealand he has helped establish a network of over 200 developers, and moved into a more advisory capacity for high-tech startups through links with business incubators and the vibrant New Zealand startup community.
