D Kannan is the Managing Director of Kotak Securities Ltd. - India’s leading stock brokerage firm from the Kotak Mahindra Group. He has also served as the Chief Operating Officer (COO) for the brokerage firm. Kotak Securities is an industry leader in Retail Broking (Equities and other financial products) and Depository Services business.
D Kannan joined the Kotak family in the year 1991. He started his career with Kotak Mahindra Finance Ltd. As an Assistant Manager and moved on to head the Asset Finance Desk in Mumbai. Few years later, he went on to take charge as the Vice President of Field Operations for Ford Credit Kotak Mahindra Ltd., where he was responsible for the firms’ overall Sales and Marketing functions.
He joined Kotak Securities in April 2000 to set up the retail brokerage business. He has played a key role in designing and setting up various services, which includes introduction of the Mobile Stock Trading application. D Kannan, who has a work experience of 25 years in the financial sector, has served 20 years with the Kotak Group.
D Kannan is a Commerce graduate from Bangalore University and a Chartered Accountant from the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India.
