Cyrus Massoumi is the founder and CEO of ZocDoc. After rupturing his eardrum in 2007 and spending four days searching for a doctor, he created ZocDoc to solve patient problems and improve the modern healthcare experience.

Prior to ZocDoc, Cyrus served as an Engagement Manager at the global management consulting firm McKinsey & Company, where he gained extensive experience in healthcare technology. It was at McKinsey & Co. where Cyrus first met and collaborated with ZocDoc founder and president Oliver Kharraz. Cyrus’s four-year tenure at McKinsey & Co. began soon after his 2003 graduation from Columbia Business School, where he earned an MBA and received the Heffernan Award for Outstanding Service.

In 1999, Cyrus founded his first business, a web startup specializing in e-commerce management tools. During the prior year, he worked in Austin, Texas, for Trilogy Software, which recruited Cyrus upon his graduation, cum laude, from the Wharton School. It was at Trilogy where Cyrus met – and shared a desk with – ZocDoc founder Nick Ganju. A native of Florida, Cyrus also worked at Disney World, where he gained firsthand insight into the importance of excellent customer service – a learning he later implemented at ZocDoc which is central to the company’s operation today.

Cyrus currently resides in Manhattan. His most proud and humbling distinction to date is ZocDoc’s recognition as a Best Place to Work both in New York and Arizona.
