Cragg Nilson is Vice President of Mobile at geo startup CloudMade, a venture capital backed company with investors that include Intel Capital, Greylock Partners and Sunstone Capital.
OpenStreetMap is a 350K person micro-mapping community that uses a crowd sourcing model to remap the entire world in far greater detail (“Wikipedia of Maps”). CloudMade utilises OpenStreetMap data and aggregates hundreds of other geo data in its location-based services platform to power mobile applications, personal navigation devices and mobile handsets. Cragg drives innovation at CloudMade through business development, product management and planning, strategic partnerships, and is responsible for the company’s IP and patent strategy.
Cragg has defined, developed and brought to market dozens of leading technology products across web, mobile & consumer electronic markets. He has served on several boards in the mobile industry including the Wireless Village Initiative (founding member) and was previously Head of Product Management for Sony Ericsson’s smartphone division. His team at Sony Ericsson launched the P910 series smart phones in over 150 countries, which received the GSM Associations award for best mobile handset in 2005.
