Colly Myers

In 1981 Colly Myers joined Psion South Africa as MD, moving over to the UK in 1983 to become Technical Director of Psion. Colly designed & developed Psion’s 8, 16 and 32 bit operating systems as well as many of the systems and software tools to produce Psion’s products. The 32 bit operating system was originally named EPOC32, later to become Symbian OS. In 1996 was appointed CEO of Psion Software Ltd, 1997 appointed MD of Psion Ltd - responsible for turnover in 1998 of £160 million and profits of £11 million. In 1998 became first CEO of Symbian - a joint venture between Psion Ltd and Nokia, Ericsson, Motorola and Panasonic to create a standard operating system for the next generation of mobile phones. Grew the company from 150 people to over 700 and successful introduced versions 6.1 and 7.0 of the Symbian OS on time while meeting all quality goals. In 2002 left to found, fund and lead IssueBits Ltd, the providers of AQA 63336.
