Cody Simms is Vice President of Product at StumbleUpon, where he and his team are building the easiest way to discover new and interesting things across the web.
Cody joined StumbleUpon in June 2012 and had previously been Vice President of Product Management at Yahoo!, where he oversaw Yahoo!’s entertainment and lifestyles product portfolio globally including Yahoo! Movies, Yahoo! Music, Yahoo! TV, omg!, Shine, and Yahoo! Games. In nearly seven years at Yahoo!, Cody held a number of leadership roles in media products, social platforms, developer platforms, and publisher networks.
Cody also served as lecturer at the University of Southern California’s Annenberg School for Communication and Journalism from 2007-2010, where he instructed graduate degree seekers on Internet entrepreneurialism, community, and social networking.
Earlier in his career, Cody held product management positions at The New York Times, Sprint, NBC Internet, and Snap.com.
He holds an MA in Transnational Communications and Global Media from Goldsmiths College, University of London, and is a Phi Beta Kappa graduate of the University of Kansas with a BA in history and East Asian languages, where he spent many years trying to learn Mandarin Chinese.
Outside of StumbleUpon, Cody is an advisor to BigFrame, a leading media company and network for YouTube influencers.
