Chris McNamara is Co-Founder and COO of CleverMiles. He has a bachelors degree in Product Design & Technology from the University of Limerick and experience in developing consumer products from early concept to mass manufacture.
CleverMiles have developed a system of interactive driver monitoring, education and incentivisation which aims to reduce road traffic accidents and save lives.
The system incorporates a small hardware device which collects information from the car’s engine. By using various metrics CleverMiles translate that data into powerful intuitive information where it can be accessed through a phone app or on a web dashboard. CleverMiles is an internationally scalable company with potential in lucrative markets.
The solution was developed with An Gardaí, the Road Safety Authority of Ireland and an international insurance company.
CleverMiles initially began as “Project Hermes”, a college project developed in IT Sligo to compete in the Microsoft Imagine Cup 2011, the world’s largest student technology competition. The team beat over 350,000 other students, winning the Irish regional finals in Dublin and global finals in New York.
