Chris was co-founder, CEO and Chairman of IONA Technologies, a leading software provider that was listed on the NASDAQ in 1997 and becoming for a time one of the top ten software companies in the world by revenue.
Chris is a recognised thought leader in the Irish ICT space and regularly writes opinion pieces for the Irish Times as well as serving on various Government Advisory bodies. He is a former President of Engineers Ireland and Chairman of the Irish Management Institute and has served on the boards of Trinity College Dublin and Science Foundation Ireland. He is also a former Chairman of UNICEF Ireland, the Irish Brain Research Foundation and the Community Foundation Of Ireland. He regularly serves on a number of award and competition panels.
Chris has been an active Angel Investor over the past decade and is currently Chairman of Sophia Search and Gridstore as well as a board member and Advisor to the World Irish Project. Chris is also Chairman of The Science Gallery, a young adult outreach initiative. He holds a degree in Electronic Engineering and a PhD in Computer Science, both from Trinity College Dublin.
