Managing Partner Silas Capital / Co-Founder Built NY Inc.

Before forming the consumer venture capital fund Silas Capital in 2011, Carter co-founded Built NY, Inc. in 2003, and for approximately 7 years as CEO, grew BUILT into an internationally recognized consumer products brand. Under his leadership, revenue grew, profitably, from $0 to $30 million, selling in 50 countries around the world at retailers including Amazon, Apple, Best Buy, MoMA and Target. Prior to his role as CEO of BUILT, Carter spent 7 years as a venture capitalist. He was previously a member of corporate venture capital fund Hollinger Capital, where he made successful investments in consumer internet companies such as Shopping.com (IPO 2004). Before Hollinger, he was an Associate at venture capital firm Cornerstone Resources and a M&A analyst at CIS Corporation. Mr. Weiss began his financial career at World Marketing Inc, a Trans World Airlines holding company, where he held various accounting positions.
