Dr. Burton G. Malkiel is the Chief Investment Officer at Wealthfont.

Dr. Burton G. Malkiel, the Chemical Bank Chairman’s Professor of Economics, Emeritus, and Senior Economist at Princeton University, joined Wealthfront in November 2012 as chief investment officer.

Dr. Malkiel is the Author of the widely read investment book, A Random Walk Down Wall Street, which helped launch the low-cost investing revolution by encouraging institutional and individual investors to use index funds.

Dr. Malkiel, also the author of The Elements of Investing, is one of the country’s leading investor advocates.

Before moving to Princeton, where he was also chairman of the Economics Department, Dr. Malkiel was dean of the Yale School of Management and William S. Beinecke Professor of Management Studies from 1981 until 1988.

He is a past President of the American Finance Association and the International Atlantic Economic Association.

He is also a past appointee to the President’s Council of Economic Advisors.

In addition, he serves on the Boards of Directors and Advisory Boards of several corporations.

He is a past Board Member of Vanguard Group.
