Bruno Deschamps is Managing Partner and Head of 3i’s French business. He joined 3i in 2007 from Clayton, Dubilier & Rice (‘CD&R’) where he had been Operating Partner since 2002. He was responsible for private equity investments in Europe, including companies such as Brake Bros of which he was the chairman and CEO, VWR, Culligan and Rexel.
Prior to joining Private Equity, Bruno was President and Chief Operating Officer of Ecolab Inc, a Fortune 500 company headquartered in Minneapolis, USA. Before that he lived for 10 years in Germany where he was the CEO of Henkel Industrial adhesives worldwide before becoming the CEO of Henkel Ecolab headquartered in Duesseldorf. He started his career managing his family-owned speciality chemical company and has a proven record of generating value by improving the operations of the diverse businesses he has led around the world.
