Brian D. Aitken

As of February 2012 Aitken is an Account Supervisor at Edelman Digital in San Francisco, CA.

He was the first ever Director of New Media for the Foundation for Economic Education where he developed their new media policies and exponentially changed the way FEE looked at social media. After two years of lackluster performance on YouTube Aitken grew their viewership by 1,500% over the previous year.

Aitken founded two technology based companies: Vertical Trips (group travel for adrenaline seeking recent graduates) and Alister & Paine Magazine (a content marketing company that caters to high-net worth business executives).

His bio as it appears on alisterpaine.com:

Brian founded the Alister & Paine Exploratory Committee in August of 2008 while serving as a Publisher for MediaPlanet, an international publishing house with over 20 offices in as many countries. After publishing and financing reports for USA Today, The Wall Street Journal & The Washington Post he took the next logical leap into the world of digital publishing. Aitken received his undergraduate education at Rutgers University, received his Statement of Professional Achievement from the NYU Stern School of Business, and is active in the Manchester Business School Global MBA. He is a 2010 Cisco Hero of the Human Network and was honored as the 2011 Sam Adams Alliance Reformer of the Year. In his spare time he’s been known to climb mountains, race Formula One cars, and read excessive amounts of Ayn Rand and Jon Krakauer.
