Brian is an entrepreneur developer with over 16 years experience in building web applications. He has founded several web sites including PeepNote.com, CommendableKids.com and WeAreTampaBay.com, and is a partner, technical advisor, and Ruby on Rails developer at Gauged2 (gauged2.com).
Brian is an experienced leader in the production of web sites and Internet based software with varying scopes from those with multi-million dollar revenue to major celebrities, to local leaders in advertising and marketing. He has led large and small size teams using varying sets of Internet technologies, with a focus on Java, Ruby on Rails, AJAX, and relational databases.
He has served as Creative Director on many web sites and served as a coordinator between all the skill sets needed to produce a web site from concept through to the final product, including marketing, architecture and development, graphical and user interface design.
Brian’s experience includes role as CTO, Solutions Architect, Sr. Java Architect, and Sr. Rails Developer for such clients as Miley Cyrus, Intercontinental Hotels, Syniverse, IBM, Brighthouse, Valpak, Tour Wrist, and WOMbeat.
Brian led two teams to a top 8 finish in both of the last Rails Rumbles. In August of 2010, CommendableKids.com was built during the 48 hour competition. It finished 4th worldwide out of 180 teams, 1st in appearance, 2nd as Most Potential to Monetize, 1st out of all U.S. based teams, and was named Tech Crunch Top 5.
In August of 2009 Brian led a team in the creation of PeepNote.com for the Rails Rumble, finishing 8th overall in the voting out of 137 sites competing. Both sites continue to operate today.
Previous to his Ruby on Rails work, Brian served as the team lead for the Java development of the billing and reservation hub for InterContinental Hotels, which processes reservations for their chain of more than 4,000 hotels around the world, executes more than a billion messages per year and more than a billion dollar’s in revenue.
