Brett Hardin

Brett is a rare mix of a technical founder with business acumen. He is an author and speaker on miscellaneous security topics.

Brett Hardin began programming at the age of 8. He began his professional career at Ernst & Young’s Advanced Security Center where he was contracted to break into Fortune 500 companies. This work included testing external, internal, and physical security controls.

In addition to previously working at Symantec and McAfee, Brett authored, Hacking: The Next Generation, covering new attacks that will be seen by the security industry in the next 3 to 5 years.

Brett, along with Billy Rios, run A site demonstrating security vulnerabilities in open source software.

Brett’s main focus is to bring security awareness to the general population. He believes the more educated users are, the better protected we will all be. Brett also coordinates Silisec, a security meetup group that meets once-a-month in Santa Clara.
