Bret Waters is a seasoned Silicon Valley executive and entrepreneur who loves taking early-stage ideas and turning them into reality. He was co-founder of Metagraphics (an early leader in web-based publishing), Founder and CEO of Artmachine (acquired by eMotion, now OpenText, NASDAQ:OTEX), and served as interim CEO for Stanford New Schools at Stanford University.
He currently lectures on business strategy in the Continuing Studies program at Stanford University, teaching a popular course called “Getting from an Early Idea to a Real Business”, as well as serving as as a mentor for entrepreneurs in the Global Social Benefit Incubator program at the Graduate School of Business at Santa Clara University.
He is on the board of the Stanford University School of Education, where he is active in the efforts to bring innovation into the field of K-12 education.
Bret holds an MBA from the Kellogg Graduate School of Management at Northwestern University, and his executive education includes The Executive Program for Entrepreneurship at the Stanford University Graduate School of Business, and Behavioral Finance at the Recanati School of Business at the University of Tel Aviv.
