Update

Brent Weinstein is Head of Digital Media at leading talent and literary agency UTA, where he helped form the department in 2003, and also helped launch the agency’s dedicated online entertainment (2006) and social media practices (2011), both first amongst talent agencies. Weinstein leads the department’s team of dedicated digital media agents to create, identify and evaluate opportunities for UTA clients including actors, writers, directors, producers, transmedia producers, recording artists and technology entrepreneurs.

Weinstein and his team also provide strategic advisory services – ranging from strategy and transactional work, to guidance regarding company formation, fundraising and M&A activities - to many business-to-business and consumer-facing technology and corporate clients, ranging from venture-backed start-ups to Fortune 500 companies. Weinstein also oversees the agency’s involvement with the Viterbi Startup Garage; a Los Angeles-based early-stage technology accelerator created in partnership with the USC Viterbi School of Engineering and prominent venture capital firm Kleiner Perkins Caulfield and Beyers,

In 2008 Brent was named one of Variety’s 10 Innovators to Watch, and named to The Hollywood Reporter’s Next Gen list honoring the top 35 entertainment executives under the age of 35.

Prior to joining UTA, Weinstein practiced corporate and business litigation in Los Angeles and Irvine, California. He is a graduate of the University of Southern California, where he earned a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, and the University of San Diego School of Law. He lives in Los Angeles with his wife and two children.
