Brent Matzelle was the original founder of Vuzit. The company’s flagship product is its Vuzit DocuPub Platform, which enables universal electronic document sharing, distribution control, and document auditing and statistics. It utilizes web services and AJAX technology to create a best of breed platform. Vuzit has customers from America to Australia and its technology can be found in over 1,000 websites and has processed millions of documents. Prior to Vuzit, Brent was the architect and product manager for NAVTEQ where he was responsible for leading the Traffic.com website team. There, Brent led the effort to adopt an AJAX-based development environment which reduced product development time by over 80%. Also while at Traffic.com, Brent co-invented and published 5 technology patents and was a member of the Media Development group where he designed and co-developed the first real-time 3D traffic reporting system used by broadcast television networks such as FOX, ABC, CBS, NBC, and UPN. Brent is also credited with the creation of the popular open source email transport library, PHPMailer, is downloaded over 100,000 per month and is distributed with hundreds of applications and content management systems.
