“Prior to Akimbo, Smith was Vice President at Broadline Media, an online video start-up, where he headed marketing and business development activities for the launch of a new Internet video service. Smith helped usher in the Internet Age in 1994, when he was part of the team of pioneers at the Internet Underground Music Archive, the groundbreaking website that introduced the concept of downloadable music. Based on his experience there, he founded and was CEO of Imagesmith, a successful interactive agency providing user experience and internet e-business solutions for clients including Disney, Hewlett Packard, E*Trade, Seagate, AOL/Netscape, Ogilvy Interactive and many others.
In addition to his this internet industry experience, Smith is an accomplished independent filmmaker and film instructor. He produced and distributed the acclaimed underground feature film Quality of Life, which won a prestigious Special Mention jury award at the Berlin International Film Festival and went on to a limited theatrical release nationwide.
