Boris Putanec

Prior to joining Sparter, Boris co-founded Ariba Inc. (NASDAQ: ARBA) in September of 1996 and as a member of the executive team was responsible for commerce software technology and corporate strategy. He was instrumental in creating and driving the products that enabled Ariba to grow to a $250 million enterprise software company in only four years. Boris drove the creation of the Ariba Supplier Network, which today is the world’s leading business connectivity network, linking thousands of suppliers directly with their buyers over the Internet.

Prior to co-founding Ariba, Boris worked as an architect on numerous notable electronic commerce projects, including the first large scale real-time Internet auction with Sun Microsystems and the Napa Valley Wine Auction Association. From May 1994 to January 1996, he was the Vice President of Engineering for the Internet Shopping Network, one of the first business-to-consumer Internet commerce companies. Boris holds Bachelor of Arts and Master of Science degrees in computer science from Brown University.
