Dr. Bernard Peperstraete is a Partner at NGN Capital. Prior to NGN Capital, Dr. Peperstraete served as a Principal at Masa Life Science Ventures, where he focused on early stage life science opportunities. His previous life science operating roles include hospital manager, medical entrepreneur, sales and marketing executive and physician. In 2004, Bernard worked at Novartis where he evaluated the commercial market potential for emerging indications. Before completing his MBA at Harvard, Dr. Peperstraete was a Deputy Director at the Tan Tock Seng Hospital (TTSH-CDC) in Singapore and was responsible for medical manpower coordination during the SARS crisis. Prior to CDC, he successfully co-founded and ran a contract research business, the Infectious Diseases Research Center, also in Singapore. In 1999, after serving as a physician, Dr. Peperstraete managed the HIV business unit at Bristol Myers & Squibb, Singapore. Dr. Peperstraete was nominated a Fulbright scholar and was a Belgian American Education Foundation (BAEF) fellow at Harvard. He earned his MD at the “Katholieke Universiteit Leuven†in Belgium and his specialist diploma in Tropical Medicine, also in Belgium. Bernard is a Kauffman Fellow. He previously served as a Director at Potentia Pharmaceuticals, and currently serves as a Board Observer at Exosome Diagnostics and ACT Biotech. At NGN, he is further closely involved with Artisan Pharmaceuticals and Noxxon AG.
