Berislav Lopac is a Web developer, entrepreneur and networker based in Zagreb, Croatia. He has founded the Initium a non-profit organization dedicated to advising and assisting technology startups in Croatia and the region. He has also initiated and co-founded the network of business angels CRANE – the first in Croatia and the second in the ex-Yu region (after Slovenia). Prior to that he had organized a number of startup and Web-oriented events, such as Web.Start Conference, BarCamp Zagreb and OpenCoffee Club Zagreb.
Berislav has been working to develop the startup community in Croatia since 2005, when he realised the lack of relevant information and investors in the area. He has been educating and advising a number of local startups, acted as a mentor for mini-Seedcamps in Zagreb, Croatia and was involved with a number of startup initiatives and events in the region, the most recent being Startup Wednesday, a monthly startup-focused gathering in Zagreb.
In 2011 Berislav has become a Referrer for HackFwd, finding and mentoring interesting startups in the region.
