Benjy has a background in distributed systems and large-scale databases. He started his career in Tel Aviv at Check Point Software Technologies and then Quiver, a knowledge management company later acquired by Inktomi. Benjy spent eight years working on search and advertising systems at Google and worked on infrastructure and revenue systems at Twitter before joining foursquare in 2011.

Benjy holds a B.Sc. in Mathematics, Physics and Computer Science from Hebrew University of Jerusalem and studied graduate Mathematics and Computer Science, also at HU.
