Benjamin Hakoun, FittingBox
Benjamin co-founded FittingBox in 2006, with the ambition of making FittingBox the world leader in virtual try-on solutions for the eyewear industry.
He is responsible for developing the company’s new products and activities which are to become tomorrow’s growth areas. From April 2011, he’s the CEO of FittingBox.
In the context of FittingBox, Benjamin created in 2006 a consumer internet portal: AlloLunettes.com . Entirely sight and optical dedicated, the website brings together customers and optical professionals.
During summer 2008, Benjamin also took part with other investors in a new company, Alessandro 13 13, raising funds up to 450 000€. The company creates the website www.enjoysunglasses.com to sell online sunglasses, integrating the FittingBox virtual try on solutions: fit-photo (a web module that enables the web visitors to try on the frames on their own pictures) and fit-live (an application that allows virtual 3D glasses to be tried in real time with the use of a webcam). In 2010, enjoysunglasses becomes a marketplace where e-tailers can propose their own frames.
Prior to FittingBox and Alessandro 13 13, Benjamin worked at L’Oréal within the Interactive Marketing Department, where he was responsible for overseeing the creation of global websites, implementing innovative diagnostic tools and working on next-generation morphing softwares.
He has developed extensive theoretical and practical knowledge of the web and of associated business models.
Benjamin holds a MS in Marketing from HEC Paris. He also serves as key speaker to company creations at the IEP Paris and at the Petit Poucet competition.
