Having completed a degree in Artificial Intelligence and Software Engineering, followed by a Masters in Cognitive Science, Ben started working for PA Consulting Group in London. During the three years at PA Ben worked with numerous blue chip clients, predominantly in the emerging web technology area. Clients include the BBC, the London Clearing House and Egg.com.
Ben then moved to Internet Consultancy Rare Medium, as a technology lead. Ben managed the technical aspect of a large web project for Muller Dairy, as well as working as a technical adviser to Deutsche Bank.
Ben left Rare in 2001 and began work as a Senior Software Engineer at Digitas. During his time there, he worked on a number of enterprise class projects, including work with Woolworths.com, PotteryBarn.com (a major US furniture retailer) and QueMeFalta.com (a Mexican supermarket chain). Ben worked heavily with ATG Dynamo, as well as a number of related Java technologies.
In 2002 Ben founded Solid State Group with Matthew Evans. Solid State Group are a successful Internet consultancy firm based on providing strategic services, content management and cross channel marketing automation. Solid State specialises in the development of effective applications for the management and deployment of e-marketing and e-commerce solutions.
