Aylin Cakir is co-founder of www.anneysen.com, an online social network for moms and mom-to-be’s in Turkey. Based on her research on the market, she decided to start anneysen.com.
Being aware of social media boom in the world and lacking of a social media platform for moms in Turkey, she has started up www.anneysen.com, a web 2.0 site, that brings a new approach to the market where current mom-related sites were mostly web 1.0 in which only one way communication existed.
www.anneysen.com is built on her experience of motherhood together with marketing and management skills and their precise understanding of the needs and wants of the market.
Background Aylin Cakir has graduated from the faculty of business administration of Bosporus University in Istanbul, TURKEY and has worked for 11 years in Ipek Kağıt - a joint venture of Georgia Pacific, the biggest tissue paper manufacturer in the world and Eczacibasi Group, one of the biggest industrial groups in Turkey. She has worked as assistant brand manager, brand manager and senior brand manager respectively, in the Marketing Department. Her responsibilities and primary achievements were: • In charge of marketing activities for consumers and away from home markets in Turkey and also responsible for the entire marketing activities in Caucasian countries • Establishing product re-launches and launches • Developing advertising campaigns • Initiating consumer researches & taking immediate actions accordingly • And carrying out national & local promotion campaigns Aylin Cakir is an active member of JCI, The Junior Chamber International. She participated in Entrepreneur days in 2009 and was the leader of the team which is selected as having the best business model. She also participated in training forum 2009 committee. In November 2009, Mrs Cakir quitted her job in order to start her own business.
