Austin is Founder and President of GOGII, Inc., a mobile communications technology company and creator of smartphone application, textPlus. Backed by Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers, Matrix Partners, and GRP Partners, textPlus is the leading mobile social messaging platform.
Austin Co-Founded wireless entertainment publisher JAMDAT Mobile with Scott Lahman and Zachary Norman, and served as Vice President, Sales. In addition to establishing JAMDAT as the industry leader on US carrier decks, Austin oversaw JAMDAT's international expansion. Austin helped grow JAMDAT's distribution footprint to more than 80 operators in 40 countries, accessible to over 800M subscribers. JAMDAT completed its $100MM IPO in September 2004 and was acquired by Electronic Arts for $680MM in February 2006.
Prior to JAMDAT Mobile, Austin served as Director, Strategy at eCompanies, LLC, where he played an integral part in the launch of eCompanies Wireless, an incubator and partnership with Sprint PCS. Previously, Austin served as Director, Business Development at iBEAM Broadcasting, a streaming media content distribution network. Austin also worked at game publisher Activision in Marketing and Product Development and game developer Crystal Dynamics in Marketing.
Austin holds a JD from UCLA School of Law and an MBA from UCLA's Anderson Graduate School of Management. Austin is a Member of the California Bar. He graduated cum laude with a BA in English from the University of Pennsylvania.
