Antonio is a successful inventor, entrepreneur, software developer and investor, with over 15 years experience in software development and high tech.
His carrier path is about mixing industry and academic work. Nowadays, you must have a great combination of research skills and just-get-it-done attitude.
In 2008, he became Chief Technical Officer of all offices in Europe. after been hired as Director of Advanced Search Projects in 2005.
During this period Antonio co-lead the development of the first Ask.com Image Search engine, which has been judged as “a worthy alternative to Google.”, PC-World test 2007 . He also co-lead the development of the Ask.com News search engine, which has been considered as “pretty original approach to the old-time, old-school, traditional maybe, view of news. ” techcrunch 2008. He co-lead the development of DailyBeast, which reached 2.3 million unique monthly visitors and served up 11.4 million page views during the first month of activity. He coordinated the team in charge of Web search ranking for fresh results extracted from news, images, blogs, and videos.
From 1999 till 2002 he held the role of co-founder and CEO of Ideare Spa, a search engine company that has been sold to Tiscali, the largest European ISP at that time.
Antonio started his career in the Search Engines in 1996, when he contributed in the making of the first Italian search engine.
Antonio holds an Engineering B.S. and a Computer Science B.S. He also holds a Ph.D on WebIR about Clustering and Ranking.
He published a WebIR book in 2008 and a dozen of US patents.
