Anil Pereira

Anil H.P. Pereira

Anil Pereira is a high technology executive and entrepreneur with more than 20 years of deep startup and corporate experience. He has an intense passion for building highly visible, trusted, global brands and scalable, network-effected revenue machines.

Pereira is the Founder & CEO of Verious, a Silicon Valley startup that has created a patent-pending solution for mobile application developers. Verious aims to be a leader in the Mobile Application Services market which, according to a recent report by research2guidance, will surpass $100B by 2015.

Prior to founding Verious, Pereira was the Founder and CEO of SecondSpace, now DataSphere, a 450-employee online services company that operates a SaaS platform for powering hyperlocal websites on behalf of media companies. Previously, Pereira served as Senior Vice President of New Businesses and International for Classmates Online, where he built Classmates Europe into a significant franchise prior to the company’s sale to United Online.

Pereira is perhaps best known for his leadership role at Internet trust services provider VeriSign, where, during his six-year tenure, he was instrumental in launching numerous high-growth businesses, generating hundreds of millions of dollars in annual revenues, and participating in the company’s initial public offering and over 20 acquisitions. In addition to leading Corporate Marketing and the flagship SSL business, Pereira also served as EVP & GM of the $300M Enterprise and Service Provider Division.

Earlier in his career, he spent six years at American Express Company in a variety of consumer direct marketing and new product development roles, including Vice President of the Affinity Card Group and head of Direct Response Television.

A dual citizen of Canada and the U.S., Pereira holds a Bachelor of Management Degree (with Great Distinction) from the University of Lethbridge where he was named Alumnus of the Year in 2000. He also holds an MBA in Strategy and Finance from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania where he was a Fishman-Davidson Fellow and recipient of the Dean’s Award for Excellence.

Pereira currently serves as Lead Independent Director for FNBox (parent company of the largest Latin American social network, Sonico), and as an advisor to a number of privately-held startups including Capillary Technologies, DocuSign, ConferenceHound, Penango and JT Wines. An avid Olympiphile, he most recently served as a full-time NOC Assistant to Team USA at the 2010 Vancouver Winter Olympic Games.
