As Co-Founder and Executive Managing Director of Globespan, Andy sources new investment opportunities, evaluates and negotiates investments, and serves on the boards of portfolio companies. The prestigious Forbes Midas List has recognized Andy as one of the Top 100 Technology Deal Makers in 2006 and 2007 (with a ranking of 60 in 2007). He was also included on Boston Business Journal’s 40 under 40 List in 2007.
Andy serves on the boards of Akorri, Hatteras Networks, Incipient, Quattro Wireless and Vericept Corporation. Andy previously led or served on the board for the team’s investments in Aptis Communications (acquired by Nortel Networks), Argon (acquired by Siemens), Cerulean Technology (acquired by Aether), Covergence (acquired by Acme Packet), eDocs (acquired by Siebel), Idiom Technologies (acquired by SDL Enterprise Technologies), m-Qube (acquired by VeriSign), Net Perceptions (NASDAQ:NETP), Ocular Networks (acquired by Tellabs), Pirus Networks (acquired by Sun Microsystems), Silknet (NASDAQ:SILK), ShoreTel (NASDAQ:SHOR) and Virtusa (NASDAQ:VRTU).
Andy was the Senior Managing Director of JAFCO Ventures, where he opened the Boston office in 1997. He built JAFCO’s presence on the east coast and, along with Barry Schiffman, led the seamless transition and spinout of Globespan Capital from JAFCO Ventures in 2003.
