Andy Baio is the founder of Upcoming.org, a website that features a social event calendar. He is also a co-founder of XOXO Festival, an annual arts and technology conference held in Portland, Oregon.
Upcoming.org was acquired by Yahoo! for an undisclosed sum in 2005 and Baio joined the company as the site's technical director. In September 2008, Baio joined the board of directors of Kickstarter, a crowdfunding platform for creative projects such as movies, music, art, theater, games, comics, design, and photography.
Prior to Kickstarter, Baio served as a technical director at Gettingit.com; backend developer at Kickmedia; application developer at Way Internet; and more.
