Andrew Reis

Andrew is a serial entrepreneur and active angel investor with a focus on digital advertising and video technologies. Andrew has been involved in digital media since 1998 and has helped to create some of the most valuable and highly trafficked web properties currently in market. Most recently, Andrew is co-founder of BlackOcean USA, a privately funded digital media accelerator which builds, operates and invests in businesses in high growth sectors including digital video, e-commerce, mobile and social networking.

Andrew’s main focus is SamStella, LLC where is he is managing partner of their seed investment fund with a heavy concentration on seed and series a investments in the New York, San Francisco and Los Angeles markets. Samstella has invested in a broad array of companies in every sector of the marketplace. From Mobile (Tapad.com, Tresensa.com) to gated content communities such as www.mypodstudios.com to content and digital magazines (www.elitedaily.com) and the technologies that run them (www.republicproject.com). Simultaneously, SamStella has been a founder in many of the companies within the portfolio. The goal is simple, work with the entrepreneur and founding teams to create the best products possible.

Previously, Andrew co-founded Tremor Video, which is the industry leader in digital video advertising and presently the largest video ad network and analytics platform, where he served as Chief Operating Officer and Board Member. Prior to Tremor, Andrew founded/co-founded five separate digital media companies, all of which saw successful exits.

Specialties: incubation, startup, startup acceleration, monetization, business development, corporate development, problem solving, negotiation, deal structure and “Turn-around” situations.
