Andrew E. Jones, a General Partner, has more than 23 years industry experience, including 13 years of venture capital experience and 10 years of operations experience. He lead investments in Cogent Communications (NASDAQ: CCOI), Entevo Corp. (sold to Bindview NASDAQ:BVEW), Interland (NASDAQ:INLD) and SALIX Technologies (sold to Tellabs NASDAQ:TLAB).
Prior to joining Boulder Ventures in late 1998, Mr. Jones worked at Grotech Ventures. At Grotech, Mr. Jones was responsible for sourcing, due diligence and deal structuring of early-stage information technology investment opportunities.
Prior to joining Grotech, Mr. Jones was with the Deloitte Consulting practice in Washington, D.C. At Deloitte, Mr. Jones was responsible for managing a broad range of management consulting engagements in the financial services and communications industries. Engagements included Operations Improvement, Strategic Planning, Industry and Competitive Analysis, M&A Due Diligence, Software and Vendor Analysis, and Financial Modeling. Prior to Deloitte Consulting, Mr. Jones was with Andersen Consulting.
Mr. Jones began his career at Motorola, where he was an engineer in both the Applied Research and Cellular Infrastructure groups. At Motorola, Mr. Jones was responsible for developing new products and patents applicable to Motorola’s cellular phones and portable pagers.
Mr. Jones holds an MBA from the University of Chicago (1990: Specialization: Finance), a Master of Electrical Engineering from Cornell University (1986; Thesis: DSP-Based Communications Platform for Hearing-Impaired) and a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from Cornell University (1985; Specialization: Communications).
