Starting as CTO with Midwestern Commerce, he moved to the same position in Aelita Software. His expertise and insight made it possible to create a family of products whose architecture and technologies were a cut above those of the competitors. In 2004, after Aelita was acquired by Quest Software, Dr. Baronov took the position of R&D Director of Microsoft Business Unit at Quest. In February 2005, together with Ratmir Timashev, he co-founded AMUST Software and later Veeam Software. Currently Dr. Baronov holds the position of CTO in AMUST and Veeam. Veeam software produces tools for VMware ESX Infrastructure.
Baronov received his master’s degree from Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology in 1990 and a PhD degree in Physics and Technology from the same college in 1995.
