Amjad Hussain is the Chairman of NextWave (www.NextWave.co), an incubator and early stage investor focused at the high-tech sector. He is actively involved in helping the NextWave family companies achieve sustainable growth. Amjad is leading SilkRoute (www.silkrouteglobal.com), as its CEO.
Amjad has 20+ years of experience leading hi-tech organizations. As a professional Data Scientist, his present focus is on implementing SilkRoute’s SkyLight platform for the world’s largest retailers and their suppliers using Software as a Service (SaaS) delivery model. SilkRoute is a worldwide provider of business analytics and supply chain solutions with offices in Detroit, Boston and London.
In his previous leadership positions, Amjad worked as the CIO and business unit head for large US corporations.
Amjad is active in the Metropolitan Detroit community and is involved in several projects aimed at the rebirth of Detroit. He is a board member at Oakland University business school. His efforts to boost the local economy have been recognized by the State of Michigan.
Amjad is an Honors Electrical Engineering graduate and a senior member of IEEE. He earned his Master’s degree from UMIST, in the United Kingdom with a focus in Data Science and an MBA from MIT. Amjad is an active researcher and practitioner in the field of sustainable innovation. He has completed Advanced Management Executive Programs at Harvard and Stanford. Amjad was recognized in the Crain’s ‘s ‘40 under 40’ Executive recognition award program for his pioneering work in the field of business intelligence.
Amjad shares his time between Detroit, Boston and London.
