Ameer Karim is the Head of Product Management for Consumer PCs at Hewlett Packard. He is responsible for driving innovation and incubation of new technology, roadmap planning and product/portfolio strategy for Consumer Desktops, Notebooks and Mobile Devices.
Prior to HP, Ameer was Vice President of HybridTV at Entone, a VC backed startup in Silicon Valley developing IPTV and Hybrid TV solutions for the Telco and Cable Industry.
Prior to joining Entone, Ameer was at Hewlett-Packard for 15 years where he held senior management positions in worldwide marketing, product management, channel development and driving innovation for HP's Desktop PC business.
During his tenure at Hewlett-Packard, Ameer was instrumental in the growth of HP's Consumer Desktop PC business from the early start-up days ('96) to a $6B global market leader by 2009. With over 10+ years of Product Management experience, he led multiple product marketing teams that delivered on hardware and software development for a strong portfolio of PC's & Connected Devices which encompassed the HP Pavilion, HP TouchSmart, HP MediaSmart, HP Dreamscreen and Compaq Presario brands.
His expertise, passion and drive for new product development and innovation led HP into many new markets/channels (Digital Home, Home Builders, CEDIA) and new product categories (All-in-One PC's, Plasma/LCD TVs, Digital Entertainment Devices, PC Accessories and Connected Web Devices) that provided HP accelerated market leadership and increased overall market share and revenue in the respective categories.
Prior to Hewlett-Packard, Ameer held various management positions in the Consumer Retail industry with Best Buy and CompUSA.
