Originally from New Orleans, Allison Kent-Smith started her 12+ year digital career out West at Vail Resorts managing marketing and promotions for national partners such as BMW, Pepsi, Smartwool, Robert Mondavi, and Starbucks.
After time in the mountains, she joined the interactive agency texturemedia as Senior Director of Business Development leading all aspects of new business and marketing. During her tenure, the agency grew from 15 to 75 people and sold to Crispin Porter + Bogusky in 2008. Some of texturemedia’s clients included Marmot, Crocs, PENTAX North America, and IZZE.
While at Crispin Porter + Bogusky she led efforts for digital education and development including the launch of a new industry focused school, Boulder Digital Works. Once launched, she joined BDW in partnership with the University of Colorado as one of three founding directors. At BDW she led executive education, marketing, PR, industry development, and partnership management.
In her current position at Goodby Silverstein & Partners, she is responsible for agency digital education and development for both employees and clients. The “ED” education program includes instruction in areas such as Interaction Design, Business Development, Experience Design, Social Media, Strategy, Analytics, Production, and Programming. The program includes classes led by internal instructors and external industry leaders.
Allison has a MA in Integrated Marketing and a BA in Fine Arts and Communications. She lives in Mill Valley CA with her husband and two Abyssinians. She’s known to play chess until the wee hours and makes a mean dish of Cajun BBQ Shrimp.
