Alice Hill is a CEO at Box Ninjas, LLC. Hill has a long history of both start-up and established corporate experience, from CNET and eBay to heading up Dice.com and Slashdot/Sourceforge.
Career History:
After working in tech media for Ziff Davis in NY, for Alice moved west and became VP of Development and Editorial Director for CNET.com.
During her tenure, she created and launched CNET's gaming business, and was Site Manager of CNET.com and a number of other core CNET domains. After leaving CNET, Hill was Executive Vice President at an eCommerce startup called Cornerhardware.com. The company was successfully sold to iFloor.com in 2001. Alice then became CIO/CMO at the Young Presidents' Organization - a global leadership organization for CEOs under the age of 50. At YPO, Alice developed a private online member network (similar to LinkedIn) to connect the 15,000+ YPO members worldwide around industry and personal interest.
In 2007, Alice was approached by Vistage International to build and run a new online business that would connect SMB owners and managers and help them find practical peer-based and expert advice online. Bizmore.com was incorporated in September of 2008 and the website launched in July 2009.
Hill was named Managing Director of Dice.com in November 2010. She was responsible for the development and direction of all activities for Dice.com, with particular emphasis on product development and innovation, building and maintaining industry presence, and managing large account sales. In 2012 Hill was appointed President of Slashdot Media - running the SF and NY-based company and its three media properties, SourceForge, Slashdot and FreeCode. Slashdot Media is owned by parent Company Dice Holdings, Inc.
In 2014 Alice Hill went to eBay Classifieds to become CTO of its incubator markets - heading up engineering in multiple countries including Australia, Mexico, Poland, Singapore, Ireland, Italy, South Africa, and China.
Alice Hill is also a published author of over 500 articles on technology that have appeared in the NY Times, PC Magazine, Parenting, US Weekly and many others. She wrote the longest technology column penned by a duo “The Hard Edge" By Alice Hill and Bill O'Brien in Computer Shopper for over 12 years, and has been profiled in the NY Times Magazine, London Times, Business Week, USA Today, and many others.
