While studying economics at Harvard, Co-founder/CEO Alexander Wallin developed an innovative idea to redesign the investment market for the new generation investors, and the concept of a social investing network was born.
Equipped with the idea, Alex returned to the University of California San Diego to conduct research on “The Application of Crowdsourcing on Active Portfolio Management.” After months of research, aided by Dr. Ross Star and Dr. Alex Kane, Alex formulated the “Voting Power Model.” The model demonstrated that portfolio performance improved as the number of users in the network increased.
To transform the theory into an actual startup, Alex obtained professional advice from associates at JMI equity, brought on a seasoned startup veteran with international experience as well as his brother, Christoffer Wallin.
After much collaboration with advisors within range of diversified field, assembling a team of Sweden’s most savvy software developers, and several all-nighters, an interactive social trading platform came to life.
