As General Manager for LivingSocial’s Entertainment division, Alex Michael leads the overall strategy and expansion efforts for the company’s entertainment category. He oversees the creation, procurement, and management of LivingSocial’s live sports, music, and other entertainment content, including all LS originally owned and operated events in 9 major markets.
Before joining LivingSocial, Alex served as Vice President of Business Development at MSG Sports, a division of publicly held Madison Square Garden (MSG), where he led the group responsible for evaluating and acquiring new events and franchises for the Sports segment, home to the NY Knicks and NY Rangers. Prior to MSG, he was Director of Business Development and Strategy for Ticketmaster (now part of Live Nation), handling new business and partnership opportunities as well as executing M&A transactions. Alex has also held business development roles at ESPN and online education start-up Distance Learning. He started his career as an Investment Banking Analyst for ING Barings.
Alex earned his MBA from the Harvard Business School and is a graduate of Brown University.
