Alan has over 25 years experience in software development. He was a founding member of Geronimo, the Apache Software Foundation’s J2EE server. Prior to Picateers, Alan was Operating Partner and Vice President of Engineering for Simula Labs who successfully incubated two companies, LogicBlaze and Merger; the former being sold to IONA. Before that he was Vice President of Software Development at Reuters, where he managed in-house and offshore development teams delivering financial data to brokerages through web services. Prior to that, Alan served as Vice President at Multex.com, an internet startup providing financial research and data. Alan has Bachelors degree in Mathematics from Michigan State University. For fun, Alan enjoys spending time with his family, working on open source projects and cooking. His specialty is smoked brisket.
