Aksel Bratvedt was born in Norway on June 25, 1957. He received his education at the Norwegian Institute of Technology under the Physics Department, Msc (Siv.Ing) with a thesis on simulation of costs/time factors in the building of the Statfjord platforms for Statoil. Aksel Bratvedt also pursued and MBA in Finance from 1982-1984 at the
University of California in Los Angeles.
Aksel started his career in the shipping department of Bergen Bank (now called DnB). He then moved to Hambros bank in London where he acquired an immense practical experience of investment banking. After a few years, he became a Junior Partner in Elcon Securities where he is also a founding member. He transferred to Stockholm and gained substantial experience in project management and development where he was able to lead key international projects directly under the supervision of the CEO. In 1994, he worked in Retriva, a bad bank established by the Swedish government in 1992. He implemented credit workout processes and management of real estate assets. It was in 1996 when he established himself in the consulting business. Aksel gained a wide range of management experience from working in several well-known companies in London and Stockholm and by usually working alongside the CEOs and top level management executives. In 2003, he started his own ventures, from media outsourcing to his own management consulting firm.
