Ahmet Alpdemir

Ahmet Alpdemir is a business management coach and consultant with over 25 years of experience in transforming technology into profits. His experience spans from entrepreneurship and early stage venture investments to corporate P&L management, business development, sales and marketing in high-tech companies that continue to change the world. He has started 2 software businesses, grew a failing startup from $0 to $25 million in revenue, and grew a public company’s product line revenue 300% to $100 million. His experience includes semiconductors at Intel and Chips & Technologies, mobile systems and software at Vadem, and Internet based directory marketing and promotion services at Dialsurf.

Ahmet has been consulting for the last 3 years in the field of corporate investments, venture capital due diligence and startup/new business planning and development. He recently negotiated and closed two investment rounds for a Fortune 500 semiconductor company, has developed business plans for two new businesses and helped reposition an existing one. Most recently he orchestrated the forming and presentation of their technology road map working with their CTO and distinguished engineers. He also coached the CEO of a VC funded company to build a new vision and focus. He currently provides executive coaching, strategic marketing, business planning and development services to Silicon Valley clients. He occasionally mentors MBA teams enrolled in Entrepreneurship Class at Haas School of Business, UC Berkeley. He holds a BSEE, an MBA and two US patents (three more pending).

Throughout his career Ahmet has been able to identify disruptive changes and take action to exploit them. He wrote Dialsurf’s business plan and raised series A round of funding in 2001, during one of the most challenging times in the history of fund raising. Dialsurf developed the first affordable, fully automated voice interactive CRM service and network for small businesses.

Prior to Dialsurf, as the VP of Marketing and in charge of sales, Ahmet developed Vadem’s system-on-chip business from scratch to exceed $25M in less than two years. Later, as the VP and General Manager, he started a new Internet business, Bits2go.com at Vadem. He wrote the business plan, hired the team, filed for 4 patents and launched the beta service. Ahmet also served as the VP of Business Development at Vadem where he helped position the company for the next round of financing, and led the effort in the acquisition of Paragraph, a division of Silicon Graphics.

Prior to Vadem, Ahmet served in Marketing and Product Line Management positions at Chips & Technologies. He grew the mid range and laptop chipset product line from infancy to $100 million revenues. Ahmet started his high-tech career as the 8088 microprocessor Product Marketing Engineer at Intel Corporation. Later he became the Product Manager for the 80286.

Ahmet lives in San Jose, CA with his wife and two daughters. When he is not making deals or plotting the future, he is found sparring with his 2nd-degree black belt daughters.
