Abhi Nemani is the Chief of Staff at Code for America.
For the past two years, he has led Code for America’s strategic development and growth, including the development of multiple new programs including the launch of a first-of-its-kind civic startup accelerator and the CfA Peer Network, designed to connect cities to help them work together. Together with the fellowship, these programs have led to civic application development and reuse, policy changes inside government, and community engagement in cities across the country. CfA’s national outreach and awareness campaigns have been featured in the New York Times, Mashable, and CNN, and Abhi has been featured as a speaker at SxSW, the World Bank, and various univeristies and conferences.
Prior to CfA, Abhi managed the multiple research teams at the Rose Institute to increase transparency in local government using technology, and with Google, he pioneered an innovative strategy to leverage social media for consumer engagement. He graduated magna cum laude from Claremont McKenna College with a honors degree in Philosophy, Politics, and Economics (PPE).
