Prayas Analytics is a retail analytics startup that quantifies the customer experience for brick-and-mortar retailers. The company gives these retailers more data to improve their store operations. The company doesn’t install any hardware in stores, instead leveraging existing infrastructure in the form of security footage.

Through their video analysis, Prayas Analytics is able to pick up more advanced metrics such as waiting patterns, interaction times, and associate idle rates which also allows for offline A/B testing. They use this information to drive insights that are packaged into four products: smarter labor modeling, better queue optimization, employee training evaluation, and self-checkout analysis. In addition to this, Prayas has a custom solution depending on a retailer’s needs. The company also takes customer privacy very seriously - they don’t use any facial recognition software and only collect aggregate-level information.

The startup recently started expanding out of a pilot with a Fortune 200 retailer and raised early stage funding. The company is also a part of Wharton's incubator, was a recipient of Wharton's Snider Seed Award, and was a Semifinalist in Wharton's Business Plan Competition.
