In 2012, 97% of PetHub recovered animals were home in less than 24-hours and 25% in less than 1-hour (the U.S. average is less than 2% of cats and 18% of dogs ever return home after becoming lost).
In the U.S. alone there are 78 million dogs and 84 million cats with 62% of us owning at least 1 pet. The result is that we "pet parents" spent $56-billion last year on our four-legged "kids" with the majority of the spending demographic being 80% women ranging from 24 to 55.
B2B - PetHub is a software service that works with manufacturers (ID tags & collars) to link to an animal's free profile on PetHub.com through unique IDs, QR codes, personal URLs, NFC wireless chips, and even a free phone number. The service helps manufacturers add value to their product lines while pushing PetHub into their existing retail channels (the result: "Powered by PetHub" tags are now available in over 1,500 retail stores in 22 countries with the site available in 5 languages). For each code activated on its website, PetHub is paid by the manufacturer (averaging around $1/tag).
B2C - Pet owners come to the website to activate their "Powered by PetHub" ID tags by linking one or more tags to an animal's free online profile. In addition to the free owner accounts and pet profiles, a staffed 24x7 "Found Pet Hotline" is included with PetHub's free "Basic" subscription. Pet owners may optionally upgrade to a paid "Premium" account that offers "found pet" alerts, interactive GPS maps, access to a 13k shelter database for sending electronic "Amber Alerts" for pets, and partner discounts (e.g. Pet Insurance, Pet Sitters, and more).
Each animal's profile shows unlimited emergency contact phone numbers, unlimited email addresses to alert when your pet is found, critical medications, dietary needs, vaccinations, license and rabies tag #s, microchip numbers, and much more.
