iZettle, the number one mobile payments provider in Europe and Latin America, was founded in 2010 and launched its services in 2011, offering an easy way to take card payments using mini credit card readers that transform smartphones and tablets into cash registers. Fast forward a few years, and today hundreds of thousands small businesses come to iZettle for tools to grow their sales. The company offers includes everything from credit card readers to complete point of sale solutions and free sales overview tools. In February 2015, iZettle launched the Card Reader Lite, the first ever free of charge Chip & Pin card reader in the world. In May 2015, iZettle launched a card reader to support Apple Pay and contactless payments.
iZettle is headquartered in Stockholm, Sweden. It was founded in 2010 by serial entrepreneurs Jacob de Geer and Magnus Nilsson and has later received funding by Index Ventures, Greylock Partners, Creandum, Northzone, MasterCard, American Express, Banco Santander, SEB Private Equity, Zouk Capital, Dawn Capital, Intel Capital and Hasso Plattner Ventures.
The iZettle service was first launched in Sweden in the summer of 2011 and is now available to individuals and small businesses across Sweden, Norway, Denmark, Finland, The United Kingdom, German, Spain, The Netherlands, France, Mexico and Brazil.
