Silicon Valley Bank was an early entrant among VC-related businesses in India, building senior level investor, entrepreneur and corporate relationships since 1999. After many years of intense relationship building in India, SVB Financial Group opened offices in Bangalore and Mumbai to bring the knowledge and network of SVB to India. SVB India Advisors Pvt. Ltd. opened in Bangalore in 2004 to provide business services for U.S.-based technology companies and private equity firms seeking opportunities and serves as an educational and networking hub for future entrepreneurs in India. Since its opening, SVB in India has worked with hundreds of clients investigating local opportunities. SVB opened India’s first niche lending business, SVB India Finance Pvt. Ltd., in Mumbai in 2008 to provide venture debt to domestic, venture-backed, early and mid-stage companies in India. SVB India Capital Partners is a co-investment fund focused on India.
