Expansion Capital Partners, LLC is a venture capital firm specializing in investments in expansion stage and growth stage companies. The firm prefers to invest in clean technology which includes energy, manufacturing and industrial processes, advanced material, water and wastewater, and transportation. It does not invest in reorganizations, consumer and retail business, and pending Chief Executive Officer and management change-overs. The firm seeks to invest in North America. It typically invests between $1 million and $4 million in companies having revenues between $2 million and $30 million that have a reasonable expectation of reaching $30M to $100 million in a three to five year time period. The firm prefers to take a meaningful ownership take in the portfolio company generally ranging from 10 percent to 40 percent, and averaging 20 percent or more. It prefers to be lead investor and can co-invest with other partners. The firm prefers to take a board seat in the portfolio company. Expansion Capital Partners, LLC was founded by Mr. Mark Donohue in 2001 and is headquartered at San Francisco, California with two additional offices in New York, New York and Natick, Massachusetts.
